A new speaker for my personal computer

My dad just gave me an on-wall speakers perfect for my room. It's a great way to keep the floor space free and clear with these new on-wall speakers that I have. I don't have a television in my room so I'm thinking of setting it up along with the computer instead. I'm just not sure if that possible or if I still need to buy something to have it set up. I went to a local store that sells exactly the same on-wall speakers my dad gave me. I asked the the guy on the store if I could connect the speakers to computer. He told me I still need a few things to have it done and gave me instructions on how I can do it. He also told me that the complete and detailed instructions on how to connect home speakers to computer is on my manual. I thanked the guy then bought the things needed and went home excitedly to have my new on-wall speakers connected to my computer and have it set up just exactly the way I want it.
