Need some help with consumer advice and law

I have been in dispute with a company now for some time over a faulty computer they sold me. The problem is how long i have had the machine for, my argument is that it has been faulty from the start and i am trying to prove this so that i can get it replaced or refunded by them. I am having trouble now and it all seems to have come to a standstill, i need to contact some sort of consumer law association to get some advice and help as to what to do next about this. The machine is now 3 years old but as i mentioned from day 1 it has caused me trouble, the only reason i never changed it before was because i was happy to just put up with the problems, they got gradually worse though and now i am really stuck because it is completely dead. The company say that i have no warranty and that's the end of it, my argument is that it is unreasonable to expect a computer to last just 3 years and thats it! i now have to somehow prove that it was faulty from day 1.
